This is a simple website tasked with providing a few helps with regard to teaching lessons, giving talks, scripture study, memorizing verses, teaching principles, learning new concepts, etc., for the LDS (Mormon) people. I realize there are plenty of helps out there already but these are a few things I've created or found that have helped me tremendously and I wanted to share them with you. Everything on this site is free and I hope it helps someone somewhere as it did me. Note: All files are created with Office 2007. If you do not have Office 2007, you can obtain the compatibility pack here: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=3
When you click on any of the pictures it should take you to the file to download. If you see any text in blue, they also take you to the file to download.
Scripture Guide
Described by one friend as "Missionary Pal on steroids" This spread sheet helps find scriptures topics that may not appear in the Topical Guide. To the left you have hundreds of topics and to the right, various verses that provide evidence to that topic. The instructions explain it further but if you hover your mouse over a verse, the text pops up as you see in this example. On the tabs below you will see Sheet 2. There you will find commentary on some of the subjects that may see controversial.
The Trinity
Is Jesus also our Heavenly Father and The Holy Ghost? formally known as the Trinity in many Christian religions. This document explains where the idea came from and then provides more than 350 verses throughout the New Testament that show such an idea is virtually impossible according to the teachings, beliefs and writings of the apostles and prophets in New Testament times.
Christ in America
Many anti-Mormon people claim the Book of Mormon is not another testament of Christ and that Mormon's are not Christian. In fact, the people in the Book of Mormon were the first referred to as Christians several years before Christ lived on the earth. Also, the Book of Mormon contains more of Christ's words as well as more mentions of him than does the New Testament. This work is a compilation of all the references to Christ in the Book of Mormon or where Christ was speaking himself. As is states in John 21:25 "And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen." it also makes a similar statement in 3 Nephi 26:6. The fact is, why should anyone put a limit on how much of Christ's words we should have.
Faith
In the Lectures on Faith, Joseph Smith gave us good reason and evidence to have faith. This spreadsheet builds on his evidence and attempts to glean a little further. The instructions explain it better but it basically shows why for the first 5,000 years from Adam, people didn't need to doubt because there was a strong lineal tie to the many witnesses of those who went before and knew or experienced some of the fantastic miracles and stories found in the Old Testament. Read the instructions as they show clearly how it works and why it was so fascinating.
