Vatican City didn’t seem that special but the Vatican is huge. St Peters Cathedral is the largest church I’ve seen but it still was not as nice as the Basilica. It also seemed to me more of a shrine to popes more than to Jesus. They had security x-ray machines that we had to put any luggage through before going into St Peters Cathedral. I told them my bag was too big but they insisted. It got stuck in the machine and when they tried to reverse it to get it out it ripped several holes in the back of my backpack so now I have several repairs to do. Because it wouldn’t go through I couldn’t go in with my pack but they wouldn’t watch it so Antonella stayed with it having been before.
